In a major crackdown, Bengaluru police dismantled a drug peddling network allegedly orchestrated by a jailed drug dealer, seizing contraband worth ₹71 lakh. The Central Crime Branch (CCB) recovered MDMA crystals, hydro ganja, and ganja in the operation, as per reports.

Acting on credible intelligence, the CCB arrested 28-year-old Fayaz Khan, a native of Kerala, on November 13. His associate, Gautam (35), was later apprehended in Bengaluru’s Nagarabhavi locality. During questioning, the duo reportedly confessed to procuring synthetic drugs from Kerala and distributing them through an extensive consumer network.
Investigators revealed that the suspects used social media platforms to take orders and relied on an online logistics service for delivery. The network’s operations were allegedly directed by Amir Khan, a drug peddler currently incarcerated in Bengaluru Central Prison.
Despite being behind bars, Amir Khan reportedly coordinated the illegal activities using a smuggled mobile phone. However, a subsequent police raid on the prison failed to recover any electronic devices, raising concerns about potential lapses in prison surveillance.
The suspects admitted to working under Amir Khan’s direction after previously sourcing drugs from him. Following his arrest, they assumed responsibility for field operations, continuing the illicit trade.
Authorities have launched a deeper investigation into the case to identify other potential links and prevent further misuse of communication channels from prison.
