A woman endured a harrowing experience near the Kundalahalli signal when her auto-rickshaw driver, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, veered recklessly with her on board. Midway, the driver reportedly engaged in inappropriate conduct, leaving the passenger fearful and helpless on the busy roadway. Thankfully, another auto driver intervened and helped her reach home safely.

Following the incident, the victim promptly filed a complaint with Rapido, alleging that the first driver, identified as an intoxicated private-hire auto operator put her life at risk with erratic driving and misconduct. Rapido acted swiftly and has reportedly taken disciplinary action against the driver while cooperating with local authorities to support the woman’s case.
Local activists and commuters are now urging both authorities and app-based transit platforms to reinforce safety protocols, such as mandatory random breathalyzer tests and real-time passenger alerts to safeguard users. Calls for enhanced policing, stricter background verification of drivers, and clear punitive measures are growing louder within civic circles.
