A Bengaluru man recently shared his struggles on social media, highlighting the challenges of living in the city despite earning a monthly salary of Rs 1.5 lakh. In a Reddit post, the 26-year old man , who lives in Bengaluru with his fiancée, explained that even with this income, he is finding it difficult to make ends meet. He pointed out various factors draining his finances, including the high inflation rate, EMIs, supporting his parents, and the current rent culture in Bengaluru.

He mentioned that while earning Rs 1.5 lakh a month was once a dream, now it feels like “living on thin ice”. Despite saving around Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 each month, he fears losing his job would quickly deplete his savings due to his ongoing financial commitments. He shared that he and his fiancée currently live in a PG, not being able to afford a flat in the city. Moreover, he feels burdened by the financial dependence of his parents, and the skyrocketing costs of food, groceries and services have made living in Bengaluru seem much more difficult. publive-image

He questioned why life has become so hard for someone with a decent salary and whether this situation is unique to Bengaluru or affects other cities as well.
