After years of stagnation and multiple setbacks, the Ejipura flyover project in Bengaluru is showing signs of steady progress. The 2.5-kilometre elevated corridor, which aims to decongest traffic on the overcrowded Koramangala 100-Feet Road, has crossed the 60% completion mark. Authorities now expect the project to be ready by late 2025.

The flyover, which will connect the Ejipura Main Road (Inner Ring Road Junction) to Kendriya Sadan Junction, has long been delayed due to administrative hurdles and contractor issues. Initially awarded in 2017 to Simplex Infrastructure, the project ran into repeated delays, cost overruns, and eventual termination of the original contract.
Following multiple failed tender attempts, Hyderabad-based BSCPCL Pvt Ltd took over the remaining work in November 2023 with a 15-month deadline. Despite early challenges, including warnings from the civic body over delays, the project gathered momentum after a site inspection and strong directive from top government officials.
Currently, 70 out of 84 support pillars have been built, and 325 of the required 762 segments have been placed. Work is ongoing on ramps at Madiwala-Ejipura and a loop toward Sarjapur to enhance connectivity.
To address environmental concerns, around 30 to 40 trees along the alignment are being relocated. With significant construction milestones achieved, the Ejipura flyover is finally on a clearer path to completion, promising long-awaited relief to daily commuters in Bengaluru’s south zone.
