Work is all set to resume soon on the highly anticipated Ejipura Flyover project. This project is part of the elevated corridor initiative in south-east Bengaluru, stretching from Srinivagilu to Sarjapur Road Junction.
R Ramalinga Reddy, the Minister of Transport and Endowment Department and MLA for BTM Layout, announced that the government is committed to fulfilling its promise, as outlined in the Congress' election manifesto, to complete this pending project.
To accomplish this, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has entered into a partnership with BSCPL Infrastructure Limited, a Hyderabad-based agency.
The project initially commenced in 2017 but came to a halt in 2019 during the BJP government's tenure. At the time of suspension, it had achieved 32 percent completion.
As reported by The New Indian Express, M Lokesh, the Chief Engineer of BBMP Project Division, stated, "The private agency has stepped forward to finish the work within the next 15 months. Valued at Rs 176 crore, this 2.5-kilometer project will establish a vital connection between the southern and eastern parts of Bengaluru."
Once completed, the flyover will significantly alleviate traffic congestion at key junctions, including Srinivagilu junction, Ejipura junction, Sony World junction, Koramangala BDA Complex junction, Madiwala-Sarjapur water tank junction, and Kendriya Sadan junction.
Residents who have long endured the inconveniences caused by the delayed project are eagerly looking forward to the imminent resumption of work.
