The Garden City is currently experiencing a notable shortfall in rainfall, with the first week of July recording nearly 50% deficit. As per norms, Bengaluru is expected to receive around 10 mm of rainfall between July 1 and 8, but has recorded only 4 to 5 mm during this period.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has confirmed that no major rainfall activity is expected in the city for the next one week. This dry spell has raised concerns, especially for water-dependent sectors and daily life in the city that typically relies on consistent monsoon showers during this time of year.

According to weather forecasts, rains are likely to return around July 17, with indications of moderate to heavy rainfall across the city. The IMD has suggested that weather patterns are slowly shifting and could bring much-needed relief in the second half of the month.
