  • Devi was facing discomfort on account of frequent vomiting
  • It was determined that her platelet count had reduced and that she is suffering from dengue
  • Devi’s husband even filed a complaint in the Banashankari police station

A woman who paid a visit to a hospital due to discomfort she was facing on account of frequent vomiting passed away in the Agrasena hospital in the Padmanabhanagar area of Bengaluru. 26-year-old Devi was a housewife.

Devi, a resident of Banashankari, experienced a sudden spate of vomit. Her family members shifted her to the Agrasena hospital. It was determined that her platelet count had reduced and that she was suffering from dengue.

Despite having identified the cause, Devi passed away on account of not having received proper treatment at 4 PM on 21st October.

Angered by the turn of events, her family members sat in a protest against the hospital in front of their gates. Devi has left behind a young daughter. Devi’s husband even filed a complaint in the Banashankari police station.

Nowadays, a mere mention of a visit to a hospital is enough to fill people with dread. Even when hospitals are visited over a small pain, expensive operations are recommended. Hospitals that are supposed to grant a new lease to life have now been turned into areas wherein the relationship between patients and the hospital is merely transactionary and life comes at the cost of money. A similar accusation has befallen the Agrasena hospital.
