Bengaluru: Fight over parking in Kumaraswamy Layout leads to 8 members of a family being attacked

    Shivakumar would park his auto in front of his house

    An FIR was registered under section 143, 148 and 358 of the IPC

A fight broke out over a parking issue in the Kumaraswamy Layout region of Bengaluru. Shivakumar and 7 other members of his family were attacked during the course of this conflict. 4 among them were women. At around 8 P.M on 24th March the incident occurred in the Pragathipura extension in Banashankari.   

Shivakumar, who was an auto driver, would park his vehicle in front of his house everyday. However on 24th, youngsters who had arrived at the location parked their vehicle at that spot. Shivakmar asked the youngsters not to do so. The youngsters refused to do so and this resulted in the conflict. What initially started as a verbal conflict soon escalated into a physical confrontation. The youngsters also gave a call for more people to join the fight. They have been accused of entering Shivakumar’s house and harming him. Shivakumar filed a complaint in this regard in the Kumaraswamy Layout Police Station.An FIR was registered under section 143, 148 and 358 of the IPC. The youngsters were supposedly missing when the complaint was filed. The police however nabbed three youngsters over their alleged involvement in the case.  

Meanwhile, the incident has also taken a communal turn as the perpetrators are believed to belong to the Muslim community.
