A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against the manager of a pub co-owned by Indian batsman Virat Kohli in Bengaluru. The One8 Commune Pub co-owned by Kohli is located on the Kasturba Road. The bar is reported to have been open at a time that violates the established guidelines in this regard. This appears to be the basis for the complaint filed.
On July 6th, the pub is said to have been open until 1:20 AM. Police officials who were on rounds at that time supposedly noticed this. They apparently paid a visit to the location and found customers to have been still inside the pub. The FIR was filed at the Cubbon Park Police Station.

The pub was opened in Bengaluru on December 2023. There are branches of this pub in other cities such as Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai and Pune. Similar cases were also filed against the Empire Restaurant located in Church Street and the Pllazio Bar located at Brigade Road. The Bengaluru Police have launched a special drive to take action against all such outlets that are found to have been violating these guidelines.
