A geyser technician in Bengaluru, identified as Murali, was arrested after being accused of installing a hidden camera in a woman's home to capture explicit footage for blackmail purposes. The technician had been engaging in this disturbing behavior for over a year, using the footage to send unsolicited nude images to the woman, whom he had managed to contact by obtaining her phone number.

For the past 18 months, Murali repeatedly blackmailed the woman, coercing her into meeting his demands, and even pressuring her to meet him at various locations, including the Electronics City bus stand. Yesterday, when he lured her to the bus stand, the woman, with the help of police, confronted him. Enraged by his actions, she physically expressed her indignation by hitting him with slippers.
The police, who swiftly responded to the woman’s complaint, arrested Murali and seized his mobile phones and bikes for further investigation. Authorities are now looking into the full extent of his crimes and any potential victims. The case has sparked outrage and calls for stronger measures against such harassment and cybercrimes.
