Bengaluru: Goons attack scientist; break car glass

Ashutosh Singh is a scientist with the Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences (CeNS), Bengaluru. He recently posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, about a harrowing incident he had gone through in the city. The incident occurred on the Ravuthanahalli Main Road.

He has claimed that he was chased by goons. He claimed that the goons had attempted to stop his car, and chased him around with swords and caused damages to his car by breaking the glass frame at the back of his car.
He also claimed that there was a delay from the Bengaluru police in the case with regard to taking the necessary action. He had expressed that this delay had caused trauma to him. He had however clarified at a later stage that the Madanayakanahalli police station had filed a First Information Report with regard to the case.
The Additional Director General of Police, Alok Kumar, had taken note of the post and expressed that this a very serious incident and that he has given directions to the officials concerned to take stringent action against the culprits in the case. Earlier Bengaluru police had announced that those initiating violence in incidents of road rage would be treated as rowdy sheeters.
