In a tragic incident, a head constable attached to the Hulimavu police station, Tippanna, ended his life by lying on railway tracks at 10:45 pm on Friday. The 45-year-old officer reportedly took this extreme step due to alleged harassment by his wife and father-in-law.

A death note recovered at the scene detailed Tippanna’s struggles, specifically accusing his father-in-law, Yamanappa, of issuing death threats. According to the note, Yamanappa allegedly suggested that Tippanna’s wife would be better off if he were dead. The note also highlighted ongoing marital discord as a contributing factor to his distress.

Following a complaint by Tippanna’s family, a case has been registered against his wife and father-in-law at the Byappanahalli police station. Investigations are underway to verify the claims and establish the sequence of events leading to the incident.

This tragedy comes shortly after another high-profile case in Bengaluru involving techie Atul Subhash, who also died by suicide, reportedly citing harassment by his wife, in-laws, and dissatisfaction with the judiciary. The back-to-back cases have cast a spotlight on the emotional toll of domestic disputes and the need for timely intervention.

Tippanna’s untimely death has left colleagues and family members in shock, prompting calls for systemic measures to address such distress among law enforcement personnel.
