  • Fridge and gas cylinder float inside a fully submerged home in Koramangala
  • Man returns from hospital with wife, finds entire house underwater
  • Heartbroken owner breaks down in tears on camera amid rain havoc

Intense overnight rains wreaked havoc across the city, with one of the most distressing incidents reported from Koramangala’s sixth cross, where a house was found completely submerged in rainwater. In a shocking scene, a refrigerator and gas cylinder were seen floating inside the residence, while the owner stood helplessly on a couch in knee-deep water.

The hall, kitchen, and all living areas were underwater, with furniture, appliances, and groceries destroyed. The resident had just returned home after getting his wife discharged from the hospital, only to find their house turned into a waterlogged ruin. Overwhelmed by the devastation, he broke down in front of News First cameras.

This scene is a grim reminder of the city's recurring monsoon woes. Koramangala, along with many other low-lying areas, has suffered massive flooding due to poor drainage infrastructure and unscientific urban planning. Overflowing rajakaluves and choked culverts continue to pour dirty water into homes, exposing citizens to immense physical and emotional distress.

Residents blame the BBMP for failing to implement a permanent solution. Temporary clean-ups after each disaster have done little to ease the suffering. While the city reels under the impact of the relentless downpour, affected families are left to pick up the pieces and start over again—with little help in sight.
