Continuous heavy rainfall since early morning has wreaked havoc across the city, disrupting daily life and leaving roads waterlogged. Commuters, including office-goers and students, faced a tough time as traffic came to a standstill due to the inundation of roads and underpasses. Waterlogged streets and massive traffic jams were reported from several areas, with vehicles stuck for hours.

The heavy downpour has also caused multiple trees to be uprooted, further worsening traffic woes and blocking key routes. Puddles have formed on most major roads, making driving risky and slow. Several vehicles have been jammed or stranded in knee-deep water, creating a sense of chaos among the city’s residents.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has been flooded with distress calls from citizens seeking help, as many areas have been left without proper drainage. Despite earlier warnings and recommendations to clear stormwater drains and improve the city’s infrastructure ahead of the monsoon season, BBMP’s response has been criticized as inadequate, with authorities accused of ignoring preventive measures.
The situation continues to worsen as the rains show no signs of abating, and residents hope for quick action from civic agencies to restore normalcy. Many are left frustrated, as the city’s drainage and traffic management systems fail to cope with the deluge.
