According to the woman, her husband, Rafiq, impregnated her twice under the pretext of marriage, resulting in two abortions. After becoming pregnant for the third time, she delivered a child at the hospital. She alleges that a man named Venugopal, a hospital staff member, encouraged her to sell the newborn to a couple who had expressed interest in adopting. Venugopal reportedly promised that the couple would cover the medical expenses.

However, when the couple learned of the woman's situation, they backed out, and the hospital allegedly began pressuring her to cover all medical costs. The woman, in distress, called the police using the 112 emergency number from the hospital.

The police intervened and helped the woman discharge from the hospital, launching an investigation into the matter. Venugopal, however, denied the allegations, stating that the operation was performed out of compassion and denying any involvement in child-selling. Authorities are continuing to investigate the claims.

The case has raised serious concerns about the ethics and practices within private hospitals.
