Shobha Karandlaje, Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), inaugurated the South Zonal Level Exhibition at Freedom Park’s People’s Plaza on Saturday. Organized by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), the 10-day event highlights the vibrant diversity of craftsmanship, small enterprises, and traditional industries from the southern region.

Running until January 15, the exhibition offers visitors a chance to explore an array of eco-friendly handicrafts, organic goods, sustainable fashion, and home décor products. The event aims to bolster Khadi and handmade goods, spotlight innovations by MSMEs, and connect artisans and entrepreneurs with a wider audience.
The initiative aligns with the government’s “Vocal for Local” campaign, promoting local production and self-reliance while underscoring the role of small businesses in fostering economic growth and preserving cultural heritage.
Speaking at the inauguration, Karandlaje praised the exhibition’s role in uniting rural and urban stakeholders, fostering innovation, and showcasing the potential of micro and small enterprises in shaping a sustainable future.
Visitors have lauded the event as a crucial platform for small businesses, celebrating the unique contributions of the southern region’s artisans and enterprises. The exhibition reinforces the government’s commitment to supporting MSMEs as a driving force for India’s economic and cultural resurgence.
