Bengaluru hosted India's first Nano Electronics Roadshow on March 27, 2025, marking a crucial milestone in the country’s semiconductor ambitions. Organized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in collaboration with premier institutes like IISc Bengaluru and IITs across India, the event reinforced the nation’s commitment to self-reliance in semiconductor technology under the India Semiconductor Mission.

The roadshow, held at IISc’s National Science Seminar Complex, featured over 100 intellectual properties (IPs) and 50 advanced semiconductor technologies. More than 35 startups backed by six leading nanoelectronics centers showcased their innovations, attracting over 700 industry experts, policymakers, and academicians.
A major focus was on strengthening India’s semiconductor ecosystem, in line with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. MeitY’s Nano Centers are playing a critical role in research, innovation, and skill development, contributing to a growing workforce of 85,000 professionals. The nation’s semiconductor market, currently valued at $45-50 billion, is expected to reach $100-110 billion by 2030.
Students from Nano Centers presented 48 cutting-edge technology demonstrations, while four MoUs were signed between academia and industry to foster research collaboration. The event also recognized innovative startups contributing to advancements in nanoelectronics.
The roadshow underscored India’s growing semiconductor capabilities and the importance of industry-academia partnerships in shaping the future of the nation’s electronics sector.
