Bengaluru: Restaurant in Jayanagar vandalised for being open during bandh

Schools and colleges across the city of Bengaluru remained closed on account of the bandh that had been called on account of the ongoing dispute between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka over the sharing of the Cauvery river’s water. However certain establishment’s took a call to remain open. Unfortunately, a restaurant fell prey to attack by goons who objected to the establishment remaining open during the protest. 

The incident occurred in Jayanagar. The restaurant that was targeted was the “Shri Udupi Hub”. Miscreants smashed the glasses inside the restaurant after having barged into it. They had the shawls of pro-Kannada organisations draped on them. They arrived at the restaurant on a bike. The 2 individuals who were involved in this incident have been identified as Shiva and Vishwa. It is being speculated that they had ulterior motives to their action and just used the occasion as an excuse. It is also being reported that several restaurants were targeted in the area of Jayanagar. 

The visuals pertaining to this incident were captured on a CCTV camera. A case has been registered pertaining to this incident. The police are on the lookout for the individuals who were involved in the violence.
