A startling incident came to light in Bengaluru’s Begur area when a human-like skeleton was discovered inside the sump (underground water tank) of an apartment complex. The incident occurred at the Credenza Apartments, causing panic and concern among the residents.

On Monday, following complaints of a foul smell emanating from the sump, residents inspected the tank and were shocked to find skeletal remains. They immediately alerted the Begur police, who arrived at the spot and took possession of the bones for further investigation.
At first glance, it appears to be a human skeleton, although police have not ruled out the possibility of it belonging to an animal. To confirm the nature and identity of the remains, the skeleton has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). Officials stated that the forensic report may take up to a week to arrive.
The police have currently registered an Unnatural Death Report (UDR) and launched an investigation into the matter. Ramesh Banoth, Joint Commissioner of Police (East Division), said, “It appears to be a human skeleton, but we will wait for the FSL report before confirming. The investigation is ongoing.”
Meanwhile, the incident has caused anxiety among the apartment residents, and police have begun scanning CCTV footage from the premises and surrounding areas for possible leads. The origins of the skeleton, how it ended up in the sump, and whether foul play was involved are all under scrutiny.
