  • Vajarahalli residents held a special pooja for road repairs
  • They allege political hurdles blocked their planned homa ritual
  • Locals pray that divine help will fix what officials have ignored

Fed up with endless neglect by officials and elected representatives, frustrated residents of Holiday Village Road in Vajarahalli have turned to divine help, hoping their prayers will succeed where civic appeals have failed. Over a hundred people gathered at the Sri Muthurayaswamy Temple in Vajarahalli to perform a special pooja, pleading for a solution to the long-pending road repair work.

Locals say repeated complaints to authorities about the poor condition of the Holiday Village Road have fallen on deaf ears. With potholes, uneven surfaces, and frequent waterlogging making daily commute a nightmare, residents feel left out by both BBMP officials and local corporators. “No one listens, so we have placed our hopes in God,” said one of the organisers.

Initially, the community had planned a special homa at the Veeranjaneya Swamy Temple to seek divine blessings for the road work. However, residents allege that local political interference led to the temple board denying them permission for the ritual. Undeterred, they shifted the special prayers to the Sri Muthurayaswamy Temple, where families, senior citizens, and children joined hands to pray for a pothole-free road.

Residents believe that divine blessings will do what the civic body has failed to do for years, fix the crucial stretch that connects many households to the main Kanakapura Road. They performed the ritual with flowers, coconuts, and offerings, hoping their collective plea will awaken the conscience of those in power.
