Starting March 1, 2025, Bengaluru has started to enforce much stricter traffic fines in a bid to reduce reckless driving and improve road safety.

The new fines, which are up to ten times higher than the previous ones, target common violations such as drunken driving, not wearing helmets, using mobile phones while driving and not fastening seat belts. With traffic congestion and rising accidents in the city, these tougher penalties are aimed at ensuring safer roads for everyone.
