According to police reports, Antony’s modus operandi involved gaining access to seized vehicles and convincing potential buyers he could secure them at extremely low prices. He allegedly collected large sums from individuals eager for bargain deals, but ultimately failed to deliver on his promises. Over time, Antony accumulated numerous complaints against him, especially in the Banasawadi and Pulakeshinagar areas, as more victims realized they had been deceived.
Despite having evaded capture for over a year, Antony’s run ended when members of the public recognized him in Ramaswamy Palya. Authorities report that there were as many as 14 arrest warrants issued against him previously, but he had managed to avoid arrest until now.
The police have taken him into custody, and further investigations are underway to recover the defrauded funds and identify any additional accomplices or victims in the case. Antony’s arrest marks a crucial step in addressing a widespread scam that left many financially devastated.
