It is less than a week, where an engineering student from a private college was reported of committing suicide over debt in north Bengaluru, another similar incident surfaced on July 17, now near Bannerghatta in south Bengaluru. Aditya Prabhu, a 19-year-old BTech student from a private college jumps to death allegedly in a fit of haste and extreme anxiety.
According to sources, Aditya was caught for using his mobile phone in an examination hall while writing his second semester exam. An invigilator reported the incident to the persons concerned in the college and after they apprehending him and warning him of informing about the incident to his parents, worried by which he took the extreme step of running up the college building and jumped to death.
Parent of the deceased alleged harassment by college. Bengaluru police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating the case.
Aditya, the only son of his parents, hailed from the city of Mangaluru and was doing his engineering degree at PES University in Hosakerehalli in Bengaluru.
It is very unfortunate that the youth, who must be enjoying their ambitious life at their age, are resorting to commit suicide. This incident is the second incident of an unnatural death of an engineering student in Bengaluru alone in less than a week.
It is advisable that those who have or see someone else having suicidal thoughts and tendencies must reach out to psychologists and psychiatrists for counseling.
