India Post has introduced a customer-centric initiative in Bengaluru by launching a door-to-door parcel pick-up service. This move not only enhances convenience for customers but also helps in reducing congestion at post offices.

To avail of this service, customers can book and pay the specified postal charges through the India Post portal. The delivery staff will then collect the parcel at a time scheduled by the recipient.

The service, known as 'Click ‘n’ Book,' allows customers to book up to five documents or parcels simultaneously, with a pickup charge of Rs 50. The combined weight of the items should not exceed 5 kg, and the total tariff should be below Rs 500.

Bengaluru enjoys the broadest coverage, with 96 pin codes offering this service. The coverage extends to 19 areas in North Karnataka and 18 in South Karnataka.

To utilize this service, customers can book Speed Post, registered documents, and parcels through the India Post portal. Prior registration is mandatory before booking, and online payment is required. Customers are advised to note the transaction ID on the left-side corner of the item. Once the postman collects the article and brings it to the post office, a label containing sender and addressee details will be printed and affixed to the cover.

Customers can view the available pickup slots for the same day or the next working day online and choose a convenient time for collection.
