In a great green initiative, IT employees of tech companies in Mahadevapura unite together to cleanup the one kilometer stretch of Yamalur Main Road in Bengaluru.
Over 120 voluteers from these IT companies took part in the cleanup drive. They have shown great interest in adopting a street at Yamalur Main Road. Through this drive, volunteers intend to improve walkability, cleanliness, and green cover on this road.
The streets around Yamalur Main Road would be maintained by volunteers for a year. This drive is being taken up by volunteers with support from BBMP officials and volunteers from The Ugly Indians group. The Ugly Indians are an anonymous group of volunteers who take up cleaning activities on Indian streets.
Over 120 volunteers from CGI company have adopted a street near their campus at Divyasree Technopolis on Yamalur Main Road.
They have decked up the streets on this road by clearing the garbage, painting the compound walls and trimming the green cover in the surrounding places.
The streets looked beautiful after their work on these streets. Earlier the streets were shoddy, littered and ridden with waste. BBMP also took up the storm water drain work and helped volunteers in cleaning up the streets this road.
Volunteers have planned to regularly keep a check on this road and maintain the streets clean and green.
