Actor, politician and former Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer K.Shivaram passed away. He was suffering from multiple ailments and was not responsive to the treatment. His final rites will be performed on the evening of March 1st.
At 7 AM on March 1st, his body was brought to the Ravindra Kalkshetra. It will be on display until 3 PM. The final rites will take place after that.
Shivaram was an IAS officer before venturing into films. He took a voluntary retirement in 2013 and entered politics. He contested as a candidate from the Indian National Congress (INC) in the 2014 election from Vijayapura and eventually lost. He later quit INC and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Shivaram also rode a horse on one occasion. He passed the Public Service Examination while he was training in the Karnataka Police Academy. He is renowned to have been the first person to have passed the IAS exam in Kannada.
