The Kempegowda International Airport has earned the top spot in the world in the category of on-time global airports for 3 consecutive months in the “On-time performance monthly report” submitted by Cirium, a globally recognised organisation that operates in the domain of aviation analytics by collecting data pertaining to airline fleet data, aircraft values, travel analytics, flight information and airline schedules. The Bengaluru Airport had an on time departure rate of 88.51% out of the 17,031 flights that were monitored over the month of September. For the months of August and July the percentage was 89.66% and 87.51% respectively. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport located in Hyderabad also featured in the list having earned the third spot globally. The Kempegowda International Airport however lagged behind in terms of on time arrival to other airports in the list.
The Bengaluru Airport’s official X (formerly known as Twitter) account posted an update with regard to the published list. “At Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru, we continuously strive to enhance your airport experience through technological innovations and enhanced operational efficiency. We thank the airline partners, service partners, stakeholders, and our team for being a part of this journey,” the post mentioned.
