Karnataka is set to witness a transformative leap in healthcare with the development of KWIN City (Knowledge, Wellbeing, and Innovation), a world-class hub for medical and technological advancements. Minister for Medical Education, Skill Development, and Livelihood, Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil, highlighted the initiative during the Global Investors' Meet at Bengaluru Palace.

Speaking at a roundtable discussion on "KWIN City and the Healthcare Sector," the minister emphasized that this 5,800-acre project near Bengaluru will drive investments in pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, and medical technology, ultimately boosting economic growth in the state.

With Karnataka’s healthcare sector expanding at an impressive 22% annually, KWIN City is envisioned as a key destination for medical research and innovation. The project is also expected to enhance medical tourism, leveraging the state’s existing success in treating international patients.

Patil underscored the need for strong political will and favorable policies to ensure successful implementation. The government’s proactive approach and investor-friendly incentives are expected to accelerate the development of healthcare infrastructure.

Situated 50 km from Bengaluru, KWIN City will house biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, leading hospitals, and other healthcare enterprises, further cementing Karnataka’s position as a global healthcare destination.

The discussion saw participation from Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, ministers MB Patil, Priyank Kharge, Dinesh Gundurao, NS Boseraju, senior officials, and industry leaders.
