Bengaluru: Lookout notice issued against absconding terror suspect, Junaid Ahmed

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has issued a lookout notice for the 6th accused in the Bengaluru terror plot case. Junaid Ahmed has been absconding ever since the arrests were made. Rumours have been floating that Junaid has made his way into one of the Gulf countries. Hence in due procedure pertaining to the investigations an LOC (lookout circular) has been issued as per police sources.

Currently 5 of the accused, namely Syed Suhail Khan, Mohammad Umar, Zahid Tabrez, Syed Mudasir Pasha and Mohammad Fazil are under police custody. 

Junaid Ahmed, a resident of Sultanpalya is said to have affiliations to the Lashkar-E-Taiba and is also said to have played a key role in the 2008 serial blasts that had rocked the Bengaluru city. He had a good relationship with T. Nazir who played a key role in influencing the other terror suspects during their stay in the Parappana Agrahara jail between 2017-2021. Junaid Ahmed is said to be the key conspirator who was involved in the planning and execution of the terror plot. The police are trying to exert pressure on the 5 arrested suspects to extract more relevant information pertaining to Junaid Ahmed. Central Crime Branch (CCB) has also established contact with the Interpol to ad in their efforts to zero in on Junaid Ahmed’s location.
