A 29-year-old man living in a PG accommodation in Doddathoguru in  Electronics City alleged that he was sexually assaulted while asleep on the night of April 17. He reported waking up the next morning with chest and anal pain, as well as black ink marks on his hands. He claimed someone had tampered with his door lock and assaulted him during the night, though he did not name any suspects.

The Electronics City police received a medico-legal alert from a private hospital where he was first treated. However, the man refused a medical examination there and insisted on being examined at Victoria Hospital. Doctors found no evidence of sexual assault, and a second opinion confirmed this. He was then referred for psychiatric evaluation at NIMHANS. Since then, he has missed several appointments and has not cooperated with the investigation.

Police investigations further revealed that the man is an accused in an attempted murder case involving a former roommate. His family in Bihar informed authorities that he has a history of mental health issues and had been undergoing treatment before moving to Bengaluru.

In response to the case, Police Commissioner B Dayananda warned that filing false complaints could lead to imprisonment of up to 10 years and a fine of Rs 2 lakh under BNS Sections 248(A) and 248(B).
