The Cottonpet police on Monday arrested Syed Nasru for allegedly severing the udders of three cows in the Vinayakanagar area of Chamarajpet. The gruesome act, committed early Sunday morning, has led to widespread outrage and tension in the locality.

Nasru, reportedly in an inebriated state during the incident, has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody. The cows, belonging to a local resident named Karna, suffered severe injuries and significant blood loss, leaving the community shocked and distressed.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has instructed the Bengaluru Police Commissioner to expedite the investigation and take swift action. Meanwhile, opposition leaders and various organizations have condemned the act, with calls for stringent measures against the accused.

The incident has drawn criticism from multiple quarters, with opposition leaders attributing it to a divisive mindset. Residents of the area were awakened by the distressing cries of the injured cattle, who were found lying in pools of blood. Protests ensued, demanding justice for the animals and compensation for their owner.

The situation remains tense, with local political groups announcing further demonstrations if justice is delayed. Authorities are on high alert as the community grapples with the aftermath of the shocking incident.
