Bengaluru: Man loses Rs 2.94 lakh to scamsters who promised ticket for RCB vs CSK clash

A crucial clash between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is scheduled to take place on May 18th in the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The anticipation among fans for this match is at an all time high. The rush to purchase online tickets is hence equally high. A man lost lakhs of rupees while attempting to purchase a ticket online. 

The victim of this scam has been identified as Shashank. He clicked on a fake website. He purchased what he assumed to be the ticket only to get nothing in return. He was influenced by a link posted on the social media platform Instagram due to which he was scammed. His total loss amounts to Rs 2.94 lakh.

Cyber criminals posted a link titled ipl_2024 tickets RCB vs CSK. They had even provided a contact number for people wanting to purchase the ticket. Shashank wanted to purchase 3 tickets for Rs 2300. He was promised an E-ticket by the scamsters. However he was subsequently asked to deposit Rs 67,000 and Rs 30,000 in instalments. 

The man contacted the number. He was told that he would receive the ticket within 2 days. Later on, the number was switched off. Shashank has registered a complaint at the CEN Police Station.
