A man was taking free rides on Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) buses by posing as a KSRTC bus conductor. He has been identified as Anand Sarkari hailing from the Athani town which is a part of the Belagavi district of Karnataka.
He was caught while he was travelling in the Tumkur bus depot. A conductor approached him in order to issue a ticket. He responded to him by saying that he too is a conductor. The conductor sensed something fishy about this. He asked him for his token number. Subsequently he asked him another set of questions. Anand was however dumbfounded and unable to respond to any of this. It was also uncovered that he was travelling with a set of fake bus tickets. The conductor realised that the individual was a fraud and handed him over to officials in the Goraguntepalya Depot.
The officials in the depot later handed the individual over to the police. The police uncovered details pertaining to his identity and whereabouts. Anand was working as a cleaner in a garage in Goraguntepalya. A complaint has been registered against the individual within the jurisdiction of the Tumkur police.
