Puneeth, a man accused of having a sexual relationship with a woman under the false pretext of marriage, has been arrested and remanded in judicial custody for 14 days following a series of complaints. The incident began when Puneeth befriended the woman during a trip. According to reports, he allegedly promised marriage and even swore in the name of God before engaging in a physical relationship with her. However, after the encounter, he reportedly severed ties and "disposed of" her.

The victim, feeling betrayed, lodged a formal complaint with the Whitefield police, leading to the registration of an FIR. However, despite this, no significant action was initially taken. Disappointed by the lack of progress, she also approached the Women’s Commission for intervention.
The case gained renewed when our sister channel NewsFirst, highlighted the issue, pressuring law enforcement to act swiftly. As a result, Puneeth was finally apprehended and placed in judicial custody for 14 days.
