Residents of Paying Guest (PG) accommodations need to exercise caution. PGs are making easy targets for thieves in Bengaluru. A series of such robberies have taken place and they have all been traced to a single person.
An individual named Kumar has been identified as the miscreant in this case. He is current;y under the custody of the police. His modus operandi has shocked even the police.
Kumar hails from Andhra Pradesh. He stayed with his relatives in Bengaluru. All his robberies would only take place either late at night or during the early hours of the day. He would enter PG accommodations with the excuse of meeting someone known to him. He would extend his hand from the windows to get hold of the laptops. He would then sell these laptops at a cheap rate in Tamil Nadu to sponsor his lavish lifestyle.

He has been arrested by the Kumaraswamy Layout Police on the basis of visuals captured by a CCTV camera. He had stolen close to 25 laptops in this manner. The incident raises serious concerns pertaining to security arrangements in PG accommodations. It is advisable for residents to take some measures at their personal capacity.
