The traffic police and the government provide directives for riders on regular intervals with regard to the importance of following traffic rules for safety. But not everyone heeds to this. In what has come to be an intriguing piece of information, a man has incurred a fine that exceeds the cost of his bike by at least 4 times. 

He was fined Rs 1.34 lakh for his traffic related offences on a gearless two wheeler which appears to not have costed more than Rs 30,000. The total number of registered offences exceeds 200. 255 cases have been registered against the vehicle. 

The rider has been identified as Elumalai hailing from Jayanagar. An inspection of vehicles was underway near RagiGudda in J.P Nagar. Assistant Sub-Inspector Mahadev of the Jayanagar Traffic Police and H.C Ravikumar were carrying out the inspection. 

Elumalai’s bike was stopped during the inspection. During an examination, 255 cases against the vehicle were uncovered. He had already paid Rs 10,000 as fine for 20 cases. His bike was seized on account of the excessive fees. A notice was served to him to clear his pending dues. A case has been filed in the Jayanagar police station.
