The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP)’s special E-Khata Mela, held under the Yelahanka Zone, received an overwhelming response from citizens on Sunday. Organised under the leadership of BBMP Yelahanka Zone Joint Commissioner Mohammad Nayim Momin, the camp aims to streamline the process of issuing E-Khatas and bring greater convenience to property owners.

On the first day alone, over 4,000 tokens were distributed to citizens wanting to apply for their E-Khatas. Impressively, BBMP staff processed 1,679 applications on-site, while 677 final E-Khatas were successfully handed over to applicants the same day, a big relief for many who have been waiting for their documents for months, if not years.

Seeing the tremendous turnout, the BBMP has decided to extend the mela for another day, continuing on Monday from 10 AM onwards. The event is being held within the Byatarayanapura Assembly Constituency limits, covering seven wards. To ensure smooth operations, organisers have set up separate, colour-coded counters for three different sub-divisions, along with additional dedicated counters for applicants coming from other zones.

A key highlight of the mela is its tech-enabled approach, more than 100 laptops have been deployed to ensure quick data entry and minimise waiting times. The entire setup is designed to provide maximum convenience, allowing citizens to complete all formalities under one roof, without unnecessary delays or confusion.
