Driverless Yellow Line Launch in January 2025
Bengaluru is set to transform its public transport landscape with the launch of the RV Road-Bommasandra Yellow Line of Namma Metro. Scheduled for January 2025, this 19.15-kilometer elevated corridor with 16 stations will introduce the city’s first driverless metro service. It will significantly improve connectivity to the IT and BT hubs, including Electronics City, home to leading companies such as Infosys. Equipped with advanced safety features like 24 CCTV cameras per coach, the line promises a fast, eco-friendly, and secure commuting option for thousands of professionals.
Jayadeva Station: India’s Tallest Metro Marvel
A standout feature of the Yellow Line is the Jayadeva Hospital metro station, poised to be India’s tallest metro station at 39 meters. This six-level structure will serve as a crucial interchange between the Yellow and Pink Lines, incorporating an underpass and flyover to streamline traffic. Strategically located near BTM Layout, Silk Board Junction, and Electronics City, the station is expected to ease congestion and enhance connectivity in Bengaluru’s bustling southern zones.
