Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) staff’s quick response and the efficient Emergency Trip System (ETS) ensured the safety of a 49-year-old man who jumped onto the tracks at Jalahalli Metro Station on Monday. The incident occurred around 10:25 am on the Green Line.

The individual, identified as Anil Kumar Pandey, an ex-Air Force personnel from Bihar, was unharmed.
Following the incident, train services on the Green Line were temporarily halted for safety measures but resumed normal operations within 25 minutes.
During the brief disruption, BMRCL managed operations by adjusting train routes, running services on a shorter loop between Yeshwanthpur and Silk Institute Metro stations to minimize inconvenience to passengers.
Authorities have launched an investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident. Meanwhile, BMRCL staff have received widespread praise for their prompt actions that averted a potentially tragic situation.
