The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has submitted the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the much-anticipated 37-kilometer Hebbal-Sarjapur metro corridor to the Karnataka government, seeking approval.

This crucial corridor aims to connect the tech hub of Sarjapur with Hebbal, traversing through Bengaluru’s Central Business District (CBD) areas and Koramangala.

The Phase 3A project, estimated to cost Rs 28,405 crore, including land acquisition, is proposed to feature 28 stations—17 elevated and 11 underground. Reportedly, according to BMRCL sources, the DPR was submitted last week and awaits the state government’s nod before being sent to the Union government for final approval.

The anticipated stations along this route include Sarjapur, Kada Agrahara Road, Sompura, Dommasandra, Muthanallur Cross, Kodathi Gate, Ambedkar Nagar, Carmelaram, Doddakannelli, Kaikondrahalli, Bellandur Gate, Ibbalur, Agara, Jakkasandra, Koramangala 3rd Block, Koramangala 2nd Block, Dairy Circle, NIMHANS, Shanti Nagar, Town Hall, KR Circle, Basaveshwara Circle, Bengaluru Golf Course, Palace Guttahalli, Mehkri Circle, Veterinary College, Ganga Nagar, and Hebbal, with the depot located at Sarjapur.

The DPR outlines that the Sarjapur to Koramangala 3rd Block section will have 15 elevated stations. The corridor will then transition underground from Koramangala 2nd Block to Veterinary College, featuring 11 underground stations, before emerging above ground again for the final two stations at Ganga Nagar and Hebbal. Minor adjustments are expected before the state government grants its approval.

Key interchanges will be available at Ibbalur (Central Silk Board-KR Puram Line), Dairy Circle (Kalena Agrahara-Nagawara Line), KR Circle (near Sir M Visvesvaraya station on the Purple Line), and Hebbal (KR Puram-Kempegowda International Airport and Kempapura-JP Nagar Lines).
