Bengaluru’s Namma Metro network is set to expand further with the upcoming launch of the 21.2-kilometre Pink Line, which will be rolled out in two distinct phases. This new corridor is designed to significantly improve north-south connectivity and reduce traffic congestion in the city.

The first phase of the Pink Line spans a 7.5-kilometre elevated section between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere. This stretch comprises six metro stations: Kalena Agrahara, Hulimavu, IIMB, JP Nagar 4th Phase, Jayadeva Hospital, and Tavarekere. The elevated route is nearing completion and is scheduled to be operational soon, offering a critical transit solution in South Bengaluru.

The second phase involves a 13.76-kilometre underground section extending from Dairy Circle to Nagawara. It will feature 12 stations and is currently under construction. This segment is part of the city’s broader underground metro network and is expected to be commissioned at a later date, subject to progress on tunnelling and station development.

Once fully operational, the Pink Line will become a vital link between southern and northern parts of Bengaluru, enhancing commuter convenience and reducing reliance on road-based transport.

The phased approach to its rollout is aimed at ensuring smoother implementation and early passenger benefits where infrastructure is ready. The full corridor is anticipated to significantly alleviate pressure on the city’s surface transport systems.
