While the plan eases airport access, clarity remains elusive regarding the proposed multi-modal hub at Hebbal, initially intended for a tourism project.
Delays near the Indian Air Force station in Yelahanka, due to restricted construction hours, are slowing progress.
The Bettahalasur Metro station remains under discussion with the Embassy Group, which pledged Rs 140 crore in 2020 for its construction. Additionally, civil work on the Hebbal-KR Pura stretch faced a six-month halt after a tragic accident at HBR Layout in January 2023 claimed two lives.
Meanwhile, the BEML will begin delivering Blue Line trainsets in December 2025, with four of six coaches featuring luggage racks for airport travelers. These driverless trains will incorporate advanced safety features and state-of-the-art amenities.
The BMRCL is optimistic about overcoming current challenges to meet the revised schedule.
