Bengaluru's Namma Metro is set to enhance urban connectivity with the upcoming inauguration of its Yellow and Pink Lines. The 19.1-kilometer Yellow Line, connecting RV Road to Bommasandra, is scheduled to become operational by May 2025. This line will feature 16 stations, significantly improving access between southern Bengaluru and the bustling Electronics City, home to numerous IT firms. The new corridor is expected to alleviate congestion along key traffic routes, particularly around the Central Silk Board junction, a notorious bottleneck for commuters.

In parallel, the 21.2-kilometer Pink Line, extending from Kalena Agrahara (Gottigere) to Nagawara, is progressing in phases. The elevated section, spanning 7.5 kilometers from Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere (Swagath Cross), is anticipated to be ready for public use by December 2025. The more complex 13.7-kilometer underground segment, connecting Dairy Circle to Nagawara, is slated for completion by December 2026. These developments aim to bolster Bengaluru's public transportation infrastructure, offering residents more efficient and reliable transit options.
Additionally, Bengaluru Metro is preparing to introduce its first driverless trains on the Yellow Line. A prototype has undergone inspection by the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS), with further approvals from the Railway Ministry pending before official deployment. The integration of driverless technology is expected to modernize the city's public transportation network, enhancing efficiency and convenience for commuters. These advancements reflect ongoing efforts to address Bengaluru's traffic challenges and support its rapid urban growth.
