The metro tracks do not have safety gates that would prevent such occurrences. The Chairman of the Manipal Global Education Services (MaGE) Mohandas Pai had a suggestion along the same lines for the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). Mohandas Pai had tagged the Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah and the Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) requesting installation of safety gates. He had also requested for allocation of a portion of the Indian railways safety budget for this purpose. He had also tagged the Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard.
