Bengaluru: More than 2400 students approach KEA office to correct errors in their UGCET application forms

The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has provided an option to correct information which is not accurate in their portal for the candidates who have opted for the Karnataka Undergraduate Common Entrance Test (UGCET). The first day of this 3-day initiative witnessed massive response from the students. Close to 2400 candidates were present outside the KEA office in Malleshwaram to rectify the errors. 

THE KEA had earlier displayed information gathered through various web services across districts on June 29th. They had provided a notification that if mistakes were found, the candidates can have it corrected by approaching the KEA office between July 4th and July 6th. The first day was designated for students who had procured ranks under 1 lakh in the exam. The process took place under the supervision of KEA Executive H. Prasanna.

The various mistakes included students being incorrectly categorised as belonging to rural divisions, having the medium of instruction as Kannada and having been included in the Hyderabad Karnataka quota among others. KEA was keen on giving an opportunity for students to correct these errors as it is a cause for anxiety. 

2 large LED screens were made available to the candidates. It was affixed with a QR code which the students could use for making the corrections. July 5th is reserved for students who have a rank falling within 1.8 lakhs. July 6 th has been reserved for candidates whose ranks exceed 1.8 lakhs. The process commences at 8 A.M on all days.
