Bengaluru: Mother suffocates 3-year-old daughter to death for being mentally challenged

In a shocking incident, a woman killed her child in Bengaluru with a veil. The incident unfolded in the Manjunath Nagar region which falls under the jurisdiction of the Subramanyapura Police Station. 35-year-old Ramya has now been arrested by the officials of the Subramanyapura Police Station. 

The reason for the murder is believed to be Ramya’s apprehensions over the kid being mentally challenged. The child was 3 years and 10 months old at the time of her death.

Ramya was a homemaker. Her husband is a software engineer. He was in Norway for work-related purposes. Ramya stayed with her mother-in-law and father-in-law in Vajarahalli. Ramya got married 11 years back. She gave birth to two twin-daughters 3 years back. One of the kids was healthy and even attending school. Ramya was upset with the other child and suffocated her to death using a veil. She later admitted the kid to a private hospital. The doctors however were suspicious and hence informed the police. Ramya confessed to murdering her daughter. 

The body was sent to the KIMS hospital for a postmortem. A case has been registered in the Subramanyapura Police Station.
