An accused in the murder of a Municipal Council Member is reported to have been shot at by the police in the Anekal region of Bengaluru. The person who sustained a gunshot wound has been identified as Karthik. Karthik was hiding near Mysurammanadoddi. 

Karthik is said to have attacked a policeman while the forces had arrived to arrest him. The police supposedly fired bullets in the air and asked Karthik to surrender. Karthik apparently did not heed to the order and advanced forward with a weapon. A bullet was seemingly fired by Inspector Thippeswamy at Karthik’s legs. Karthik sustained injuries on his right leg.

Scrap Ravi belonging to the Congress was killed in his office on 24th July. Karthik, Hareesh and Vinay are suspects in the case. Vinay and Hareesh had surrendered themselves before a court. 

2 teams were constituted in order to nab Karthik. The police received information pertaining to Karthik’s hideout. A junior officer named Suresh is believed to have sustained injuries during the operation to nab Karthik. Self defence has been cited as the reason for firing at Karthik.
