CBRE highlighted that Bengaluru, with over 1 million tech professionals, is the largest tech talent market in the Asia-Pacific region, rivaling major Chinese hubs like Beijing and Shanghai. It also boasts the highest number of AI-related professionals in India, placing it on par with U.S. innovation clusters.

Bengaluru ranked 4th among the 12 powerhouse cities for its working-age population share at 75.5%, with a 2.4% growth in that demographic from 2019 to 2024. The city’s thriving startup ecosystem, supported by 28 unicorns and robust institutional frameworks, contributed to a 12% increase in tech employment between 2018 and 2023.

The report also noted that Bengaluru attracted 140 venture capital deals worth $3.3 billion in 2024, including 34 focused on AI. CBRE attributed this growth to strong educational institutions, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), and progressive business policies that continue to position Bengaluru as a critical node in global tech innovation.
