The Prime Minister of Netherlands, Mark Rutte, who arrived in India on 8th September to attend the G-20 Summit embarked on a trip to Bengaluru.
He embarked on a cycling exercise on Church Street along with Bengaluru’s bicycle mayor Sathya Sankaran. He ordered Masala Chai in Chai Point and even praised the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) system through which he made the payment.
He inaugurated the Dutch Consulate's new offices at Embassy One, Bengaluru. He also interacted with Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar with regard to investment opportunities and potential for partnerships between the 2 countries.
“We share many similarities across major industries like food processing, biotech and pharma, innovation and R&D, etc. The state is eager to attract Dutch investments in sectors such as AI, technology, agriculture, renewable energy, and healthcare. Our government is ready to provide all support for industries to set up shops in areas beyond Bengaluru.” Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, DK Shivakumar said as per a report in Moneycontrol.
“The Netherlands delegation has discussed several matters. It has also sought for implementation of a transparent and fair excise policy. A meeting would be soon held to sort out the issues about facilitating the Dutch investments in the state.” he mentioned as per a report in The Hans India.
