The OTS scheme, introduced in February 2024, was designed to provide relief by waiving off interest and penalties for property owners who cleared their outstanding taxes. Despite multiple deadline extensions, BBMP has decided to enforce stricter measures starting December 1 to recover overdue property taxes.
Among the major defaulters, reports state that Mahadevapura zone tops the list, with nearly 50,000 property owners owing a total of Rs 96 crore. Meanwhile, Dasarahalli zone has the lowest dues, with over Rs 14 crore pending from 10,356 properties.
BBMP urges all property owners to take advantage of the OTS scheme and settle their dues before the deadline to avoid heavy fines and penalties.
